ANHUI GUZHEN BIOMASS GENERATION PROJECT

The Anhui Guzhen Biomass Generation Project, located in Guzhen County, Anhui Province, P.R. China, is a renewable energy initiative developed by National Guzhen Bio Energy Co., Ltd. The project features a 130t/h boiler and a 30MW steam turbine generator, utilizing agricultural residues such as rice, maize, and peanut straws, as well as wood residues for power generation. Expected to produce 186,900 MWh of electricity annually, this output is directed to the East China Power Grid, significantly displacing fossil fuel-derived electricity. Initiated in March 2010 and operational since January 2011, the project is set to operate for 20 years while contributing to considerable reductions in CO2 emissions.

Project Overview

Anhui Guzhen Biomass Generation Project (hereafter referred to as the Project) is sited within Guzhen County, Anhui Province, P.R.China. The Project is invested, constructed and operated by the National Guzhen Bio Energy Co., Ltd. The Project installed one 130t/h boiler and one 30MW steam turbine generator. Rice straw, maize straw, peanut straw and wood residues are used as fuel for power generation. The annual electricity supply of the Project is expected to be 186,900 MWh, which is delivered to East China Power Grid. The construction of project was started on March 31st, 2010 and the project was put into operation on January 3rd, 2011. The expected life-time of the project is 20 years. The Project achieves emission reductions via avoiding CO2 emissions from the same amount of electricity generation from East China Power Grid, which is mainly composed of traditional fossil fuel fired power plants.
